June Pride Celebrations

Pride Month kicks off on Sunday, June 1, with celebrations of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community taking place in Down East Maine and around the state.

Bar Harbor

Celebrate Bar Harbor Pride 2025 with a weekend of inclusive, joyful events from June 5–7! Festivities kick off Thursday with a Patio Party at Milk & Honey (5–8 PM) and Drag Karaoke at Leary’s Landing (10 PM–1 AM). Friday features an all-ages Curbside Queens Drag Show at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth (5–7 PM) and a Dance Party at Lompoc Café (10 PM–1 AM).

On Saturday, June 7, join the Pride Run (8 AM), Trail Mixer Walk (11 AM), and Pride Rally (12:30 PM), all at or near Bar Harbor Village Green. The Pride Festival (1–5 PM) at the Reel Pizza/UCC lot includes live music, drag performances, family fun, vendors, and more. The day ends with an 18+ Curbside Queens Drag Show at the Criterion Theatre (7 PM). All are welcome—come celebrate Pride!

Blue Hill

Celebrate Pride Month with Peninsula Pride 2025, offering a vibrant lineup of events across Blue Hill throughout June! Highlights include a Book Club series at Blue Hill Books (June 5, 12, 19), a screening of My Beautiful Laundrette (June 11), an All-Ages Drag Party at Founders Hall (June 13), and a teen film screening of But I’m A Cheerleader (June 14). Engage in discussions at the Youth Panel and Art History Lecture (June 17), and explore LGBTQ+ themes in nature with the PRIDE! in Nature presentation (June 20). The festivities culminate on Saturday, June 21, with the Pride Festival (11 AM–2 PM) at the Congregational Church and Blue Hill Public Library, followed by the Pride Parade (2–2:45 PM) through downtown Blue Hill, and an After Party at Devil’s Half Acre Beer Garden (3–6 PM). The month concludes with a Teen Book Club (June 23) and a Pride Disco Dance at the Blue Hill YMCA (June 28). All events are free and open to all. Ellsworth

Join in the 5th annual Ellsworth Pride Fest on Sunday, June 8, 11:30 AM–4:30 PM at Knowlton Park! Hosted by Ellsworth Pride, Heart of Ellsworth, and Healthy Acadia, the free, family-friendly festival features headliners Curbside Queens, live music from Boy.Scout and Lasers in the Jungle, a Pet Parade, Drag Queen Story Hour, yoga, food trucks, vendors, and a Health & Resources Fair. Other Pride Month events include a Fruity Walk on June 1 and Fruity Talks on June 21. All are welcome to celebrate, connect, and support the LGBTQ+ community! Washington County

Celebrate Downeast Pride 2025 with a weekend of vibrant, inclusive events from June 27–29 in Eastport and Lubec! Festivities kick off Friday with free art activities and live music by Pink Capos at Peavey Memorial Library. Saturday features a craft fair, advocacy booths, art activities, and performances by Rexy Dinosaur and the Curbside Queens on Water Street, followed by a Happy Hour at Horn Run Brewing. Sunday in Lubec includes a Trail Mixer with Queerly ME, a Story Hour with author Sonny Dean, a walking parade, and performances by the Curbside Queens, Cindy Jollotta, and Hot Velvet at Stockford Park.
