Storm Safety & Emergency Overnight Warming Center

Dear Friends,

We are wishing you all a very safe weekend as our communities navigate the effects of Hurricane Lee.

Here at Healthy Acadia, we are grateful to have been able to open an Emergency Overnight Warming Center for the duration of the storm, to provide shelter and safety to community members who are unhoused or unsafely housed, to protect them from the dangerous weather.

The Emergency Overnight Warming Center, located at Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Center, 24 Church Street, Ellsworth, is open from Friday, September 15 @ 4pm through Sunday, September 17 @ 6am. The Center welcomes those who are unhoused or unsafely housed from across Hancock and Washington counties. Cots, mats, and comfortable seating are available, as well as food and drinking water. Please feel free to call the INSPIRE Center at 207-412-2288 for more information.

We have fresh veggies, home-baked goodies, coffee, tea, and water available at the emergency warming center at INSPIRE. And, homemade soup, courtesy of Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital.
