Maegan, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

The Healthy Acadia team is helping me to complete my college internship so that I can graduate in December.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

I love that Healthy Acadia works within communities, reaching out to those that they can assist. It is great that the agency is so involved within the community in a hands on way with the people there. It is inspiring to watch how Healthy Acadia has grown and evolved over the years in increasing their presence within the community, collaboratively working with others to make a difference. I am excited to learn and help in any way I can.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

Art inspires me daily on a personal level. I believe that the act of doing art can be therapeutic and healing in so many different ways.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

My favorite place to be in Maine is Cape Split, South Addison. I have so many family and childhood memories from there, it is like a second home.

Maegan serves as a volunteer and advocate with Finding Our Voices, which helps to support those struggling in domestic violence situations. She holds SART and MHRTC certifications and will graduate from University of Maine, Augusta (UMA) in December 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health and Human Services with a concentration in Addiction and minors in both Psychology and Art. She currently resides in Ellsworth.
