Help Support Mindfulness for Health

Contributed by Sara Willett, Development Manager

We are excited to be celebrating Healthy Acadia’s 25th anniversary, and we have big goals for our future, so we can continue to make health happen for everyone throughout our region.

This year, as we celebrate, we invite you to build health and hope alongside us. One key way to do this is to help us raise $1.5 million by December 31 to meet our critical community health needs and goals.

Did you know that we offer mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience programming?

These programs provide tools to help us stay present and calm in the moment, reduce stress, strengthen coping skills, improve health, and handle life's challenges with a clearer mind and a more positive attitude. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and curiosity. It involves noticing our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and surroundings without judgment. Regular mindfulness practice can reduce stress, improve focus, enhance physical, mental, and emotional health, and help us respond to life's challenges with greater calm and clarity. It also supports well-being, better sleep, healthier choices, and greater resilience, helping people feel more balanced, connected, and able to thrive.

We have seen over and over that mindfulness programs truly make a difference. One participant shared: “I have more tools now to manage my stress and notice earlier when I need to support myself. I’ve learned to meditate, and I see it helping!”

Can you help us continue to offer this programming? We hope to raise $50,000 this year for our Mindfulness programming, and we need your help! With your gift of any amount, we can continue to bring programming that provides tools to reduce stress and build a healthier life.
