Mindfulness for Health

Mindfulness means paying full attention to what we are doing right now. It's about noticing our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judging them. It helps us stay present and calm in the moment.

Mindfulness is important because it helps us feel calmer and more focused. Practicing it daily can reduce stress and make us more aware of our emotions. It can also improve our sleep, boost your mood, and help us make healthier choices. By staying present, we can handle life's challenges with a clearer mind and a more positive attitude.

Monthly Mindfulness Series

Discover the power of being present in the moment! Join our free Monthly Mindfulness Series to explore what mindfulness is all about.

Since 2020, Healthy Acadia has provided free virtual workshops for community members to learn tools and techniques that support mindfulness for better health and wellness. Each month, community leaders in the field of mindfulness share their knowledge and lead participants through simple mindfulness practices that we can incorporate into our daily lives. It's a great chance to connect with others, learn new ways to stay calm and centered, and find inspiration together. We welcome you to join us in exploring a variety of mindfulness topics and experiences and learn tools and tips for becoming more mindful to support our health and wellness.

Join us online via Zoom on the first Thursday of every month from 5 to 6 p.m. These workshops are free and open to all. Pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link to join.

Embodying Peace, Coming Home, with Satya Kaur Khalsa

As our world spins faster and more wildly, it is easy to become tangled in the intensity. We can feel depleted and overwhelmed, and we lose sight of what is really important.

Let's turn it around now, as we welcome simplicity and clarity, so we can be with the pressure in new ways, relax fully, listen and hear the song of our hearts.. It feels like a very long way, and we are all coming home. This class does not require your brain at all, only the willingness to show up and allow your internal navigation tools to be reset for peace. A comfortable resting area is recommended, pajamas are optional and welcome.

Satya Kaur Khalsa is an informational healthcare practitioner supporting self-healing, with experience in yogic and Ayurvedic teachings. “I live off-grid and out-of-the-box with two magical cats and 127 gray whales.”

Pre-registration is required for this free event. To register and receive the Zoom link, go to bit.ly/mindful-9524.

Meditating with Sound and Music, with David Sholemson from 3 Body Healing Arts

“Music is sound, and sound can create silence.” ~ Osho

Humans have long had a deep connection to music. With the power to stir our emotions, music meaningfully reflects what we feel inside. In this course, you will receive guidance and tools to explore how the sound and vibration we call music can help you go deep inside into a quiet and peaceful place. We will learn seated, standing, still, and moving meditation techniques in tandem with a variety of sounds and music. You will leave with new relaxation tools for your life, with which you can release your stress, give your brain a rest, and give your heart a chance to shine. No previous experience is necessary.
