Carrie Cropley Joins Healthy Acadia's Tobacco Prevention Team

Please join us in welcoming Carrie Cropley to the Healthy Acadia team!

Carrie Cropley joins us as Community Health Coordinator with our Tobacco Prevention Team. Carrie loves learning, developing new skills, and serving her community. A self-professed, life-long college student, she is currently enrolled in University of Maine’s Autism Studies Graduate Program, and is one of a small cohort of 25 admitted to the program. She has coached local basketball, cross country, and softball teams, and volunteered with her community 4H Club and Girl Scout groups. Carrie has also volunteered with local domestic violence and sexual assault programs, where she served as crisis hotline advocate.

Carrie, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I have been reading Healthy Acadia’s newsletter for three years and really enjoyed following the work of the staff. I also felt that the vision, mission, and goals of this organization were things I had a passion for. In turn, I decided I that would apply to become part of that team.

What inspires you most about Healthy Acadia's work?

Healthy Acadia promotes the well being of all, which very much aligns with my mindset.

What inspires you on a personal level?

A purpose I believe in, that is for the good of the people in my community.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

I thoroughly enjoy hiking and hunting in the Maine woods. Preferably in eastern and northern Maine!

Carrie resides in Baileyville and is a devoted mother of four and grandmother of one. “My youngest daughter barrel races competitively. My oldest daughter is a math and science teacher. My oldest son is working towards becoming a Chaplain in the U.S. Army. Lastly, my youngest son is already operating wood harvesting machines at the age of 14 and working towards becoming a forester!”
