WinterKids Downhill 24 Outdoor Fund Community Vote Opens July 1

WinterKids promotes healthy lifelong habits in children by creating and supporting educational and recreational opportunities for outdoor activity during the winter months.

This year, WinterKids will distribute a total of $25,000 in grants to three Maine public schools, three Maine nonprofit organizations, and three Maine Parks and Recreation programs, plus one honorable mention, for initiatives that will get children outside and active through the WinterKids Downhill 24 Outdoor Fund.

The WinterKids Downhill 24 Outdoor Fund was established in 2022 to help more kids outside and active across Maine and beyond. This fund helps remove barriers to healthy outdoor activity by providing mini-grants to schools and community-serving organizations for winter equipment and clothing for kids, winter sports programs, and winter outdoor experiences.
