We're hiring! Camp Staff Positions for Down East Teen Leadership Camp 2026
Down East Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC) is Healthy Acadia’s annual residential summer camp program for teens entering grades 7 through 9. DETLC offers teens five action-packed days filled with fun games and team-building activities, inspiring motivational speakers, and interactive workshops focused on social issues that matter to teens. Now in its 26th year, DETLC is held in late July on the beautiful campus of Cobscook Institute in Trescott, Maine.
Down East Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC) aims to empower teens to build strong social, communication, and leadership skills. Our goal is to boost emotional strength and prevent substance misuse. We are looking for young people interested in helping make this year’s Down East Teen Leadership Camp an incredible and unforgettable experience for teens in our community.
All DETLC staff will help create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment so campers feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. Staff must be positive role models for students throughout camp. All staff are required to attend the Staff Training Session before camp starts. Staff will also help with camp activities, making announcements, attending workshops, and keeping the camp’s energy positive and fun.
We offer paid roles for individuals interested in supporting the entire five-day session of our residential camp, as well as opportunities to lead workshops or choice time activities for a few hours.
Camp is scheduled for July 20- 24 at the Cobscook Institute in Trescott. Staff will arrive at camp on Sunday, July 19th at 2 pm for staff training.
DETLC Staff Positions
Student Staff- You have attended DETLC as a camper and are going into 10th grade. This is a support position. You help with your family group and meal times.
Workshop or Activity Leader- You will lead a workshop or activity during camp. Run an activity (that you pick) during choice time. **Note: This is a stipend position, and you would only need to be at camp for your designated workshop time.
Big Sib(ling)- Must be 16 or older. Support person for campers.
Family Group Co-Facilitator- Must be entering 11th grade, work with family groups, and lead team-building activities.
Family Group Facilitator- Must be 18 or older. Lead a family group during camp.
Media & Activities Coordinator- Must be 16 or older. Assists DETLC and the Camp Directors with media collection and creation.
