Red Ribbon Week

October 23-31 is National Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon week is an annual campaign that aims to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage families, educators, and communities to participate in drug prevention activities.

This year’s theme, Drug Free Looks Like Me™ is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free! The theme for Red Ribbon Week changes each year. Click here to submit your ideas for the 2022 Red Ribbon Theme.

What Can You Do?

Teens who eat dinner together with their families are less likely to use drugs and alcohol. Take time to talk with your teen over dinner every night.

Build strong connections. Together with your loved ones, pledge to enjoy family meals together, participate in outdoor activities, hold family games and craft nights, and reduce family screen time. Take Healthy Acadia’s Downeast Family Pledge! Click here.

Connect with us. Healthy Acadia actively engages with youth in school and community settings to promote peer to peer discussions around the risks of substance use in an effort to deter use of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and other substances through programs such as DownEast Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC), Prime for Life, and Sidekicks.

We offer both in-class and virtual presentations for students of all ages. Contact us to learn more and schedule a virtual or in-person presentation or classroom discussion about substance use and tools for prevention.
