Tai Chi for Health Instructor Certification Course Scheduled for July 27
Ellsworth, ME. Healthy Acadia will offer a Tai Chi for Health Institute’s (TCHI) Tai Chi for Heart Conditions Instructor Training on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at their recently-opened 77 Beechland Road, Ellsworth location. The training will be facilitated by TCHI Master Trainers Pat Lawson and Nina Zeldin.
Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI) programs combine the ancient art of tai chi with modern science to promote physical and emotional wellbeing. Certified by the Tai Chi for Health Institute, founded in 2010 by Dr. Paul Lam and colleagues, TCHI Trainers and Instructors are dedicated to empowering individuals to enhance their health and wellness through Tai Chi for Health classes.
Comprised of Sun, Yang and Chen style movements, this Tai Chi for Health Institute program empowers better emotional and physical heart health through gentle mind-body exercises. As in Traditional Chinese medicine, “Heart” in this program has a broad meaning that includes emotional and physical health. Regular practice of the set can help improve emotional balance and relaxation, as well as prevent or help improve physical conditions such as high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries and congestive heart failure.
The course fee is $250, plus the cost of course materials. Materials will vary in price from $40 to $76, depending on whether you are participating solely for enjoyment or aiming to become an instructor. For further details, please refer to the registration form. Visit https://taichiforhealthinstitute.org/workshops/workshop/?workshop_id=6999 or scan the QR code to register.
Anyone is welcome to attend this workshop, but in order to become a certified instructor, participants need to complete the preparatory work, and be able to perform the set from memory. Please allow a minimum of 20 hours or more to prepare. Visit the registration form to learn more.
Non-instructors are welcome, as this workshop is designed to enhance your tai chi knowledge and skills as you build your personal health and wellness routine.
