Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Center Named August Beneficiary of Hannaford Community Bag Program

BAR HARBOR, ME. Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Center in Ellsworth has been selected as the August beneficiary of the Hannaford Community Bag Program, according to store leadership at the Bar Harbor Hannaford. This initiative gives shoppers an opportunity to support local nonprofits while helping reduce single-use plastic waste.

Through the program, launched in 2015, each Hannaford location selects a local nonprofit to receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable Community Bag purchased during a given month. Throughout August, customers at the Bar Harbor Hannaford, located at 86 Cottage Street, will directly support Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Center with every bag purchase. Community Bags are available in-store and through Hannaford-To-Go.

“We’re honored and grateful to be chosen as this month’s beneficiary by the Bar Harbor Hannaford team,” said Shoshona Smith, Development Director at Healthy Acadia. “It’s a simple, impactful way for community members to support our recovery and health initiatives while making an environmentally friendly choice.”
