Healthy Acadia Initiative Encourages Making Time for Family Connection

Healthy Acadia’s Downeast Partnerships for Success initiative is excited to launch the DownEast Healthy Family Pledge, an awareness campaign aimed at providing families with an opportunity to recommit to intentional time spent with the ones they love.

Spending time with loved ones helps us to feel connected, especially during these challenging times. Together we build positive and lasting memories with loved ones while also connecting to our authentic selves. Quality time spent with our loved ones helps to nurture creativity, improve self-esteem, promote self-expression, and support overall well-being.

Make a commitment to taking time for the ones you love the most. Together with your family, take The DownEast Family Pledge. Make a conscious effort to enjoy family meals together, participate in outdoor activities, hold family games and craft nights, and cut down on family screen time.

Visit https://www.healthyacadia.org/family-pledge complete and submit your Family Pledge form. While you’re there, print a copy of their Family Time Activity Tracker. Post it on your fridge and use it to set weekly goals with your family and track your progress. It will also be a great reminder of the commitment you’ve made to making time for each other.

For questions and to share your favorite family time photos, adventures, and activities that you want to recommend for others, please email Sara McConnell at Sara@HealthyAcadia.org.  You can also share your photos by tagging Healthy Acadia on your Facebook [@healthyacadia] and Instagram [@healthyacadiame] posts. Use the hashtag #DownEastFamilyPledge.
