Free Workshop on Mindfulness and Self-Compassion: Last Chance to Register!

Ellsworth, ME – Community members are invited to join Healthy Acadia on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at The Moore Community Center, 125 State St., Ellsworth, for an engaging workshop on the meaning and value of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion.

In our fast-paced world, feelings of rush, unpredictability, and unkindness can overwhelm us. Daily stress and self-criticism often leave us depleted and anxious. Fortunately, mindfulness and self-compassion offer strategies to help us live more calmly, clearly, and connectedly.

Mindfulness and self-compassion are essential tools that enable us to soothe and regulate ourselves during times of distress. These practices help us approach life's challenges with gentleness and forgiveness. Research shows that individuals who practice self-compassion experience greater happiness, life satisfaction, and motivation. They also enjoy better relationships, physical health, and resilience against anxiety, depression, and stress.

Mindfulness emphasizes accepting experiences, while self-compassion focuses on caring for oneself. Together, they help us live with less resistance towards ourselves and our lives. By accepting our feelings and being kind to ourselves, we can better endure hardships and challenges.

Join Sonya Connelly and Ursula Hanson for an experiential Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Workshop. Participants will gain insights into the importance of these practices and learn tips and tools for daily use to support well-being.

Pre-registration is required for this free, in-person only event. To register, visit bit.ly/mindful-self-723. For more information, contact Sonya Connelly at 207-610-9895 or sonya.connelly@healthyacadia.org.
