Now is the time to sign up for Maine Senior FarmShare
Income-eligible seniors can sign up to receive $50 worth of free, local produce through Maine Senior FarmShare. This program is funded by the USDA and connects eligible seniors directly with local farmers to receive produce over an eight-week period.
To participate in the Maine Senior FarmShare Program you must:
Be a Maine resident
Be 60 years old or older (55 years old or older for Native Americans)
Meet the 2022 Income Guidelines:
Maximum of $25,142/per year for a one-person household; or
Maximum of $33,874/per year for a two-person household
In Hancock County, seniors can sign up with the following farms: Amber’s Best, Backstage Farm, Calyx Farm, Morgan Bay Farm, Northern Bay Organics, and Simon’s Hancock Farm. In Washington County, seniors can sign up with After the Rain Farm, Amber’s Best, Bristol’s Redbird Farm, Far Out Farm, Folklore Farm, Leighton Family Farm, and Rime Nor Reason Farm.
