January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

This year 13,240 women in the United States will be diagnosed with cervical cancer and 4,170 deaths will occur.

Did you know that nearly all cervical cancers are caused by HPV, or Human Papillomavirus?

Regular pelvic exams, Pap and HPV tests are the best tools for prevention. The CDC recommends that all women begin regular screening for HPV and cervical cancer at age 21.
