Help Send These Teens to the 2022 CADCA Youth Leadership Forum

We invite you to join us in support a group of amazing youth who are fundraising to attend the Youth Leadership track of CADCA’s 32nd Annual National Leadership Forum by making a gift today: bit.ly/YouthLeadershipFund

Attending this conference, scheduled for January 31 - February 2, 2022, near Washington, D.C., will help these teens to be change agents in their communities, including by learning about the latest advancements in health equity, science, capacity building, policy, advocacy and sustainability.

The trip (including attendance and travel costs) will cost $1,500 per teen, and they need your help to make this dream become a reality!

Funds raised above the group’s goals will be used to provide scholarships for area youth to attend DownEast Teen Leadership Camp.

I’m 16 years old from Lubec, Maine and I’m a junior at Washington Academy. I want to go to the CADCA National Leadership Forum because there’s not many opportunities like this for people in my area, and now that this is being presented to me I would do anything to go. Not only would this expand my horizons, it would strengthen my leadership skills. Leadership skills that started at DETLC ( DownEast Teen Leadership Camp), a camp I’ve been going to for a long time, and one that I’m proud to be involved with. Going to this conference would mean the world to me so it would be greatly appreciated if you donated!

Mackenzie

Hey everyone, I am a Sophomore at Machias Memorial High School. My team and I are currently fundraising for a trip to the CADCA National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington DC this winter. Over the summer I worked for the Gateways to Opportunity program at Healthy Acadia, and we are presenting about it at the conference. I want to go on this trip because it is an amazing leadership opportunity and it would be a chance to meet and get to know people who want to make a difference in our community, state and country. My team and I are so grateful for this chance, and we can only do it with your help, if you could donate that would be incredible.

Ellie

I am 16 years old and a junior at Washington Academy in East Machias, Maine. I was given the amazing opportunity of going to the Youth National Leadership Conference in Washington D.C this February. I have always had a deep love for nature, animals, and anything outdoors so the climate crisis has always been a big deal to me. At the CADCA conference, I am hoping to be able to broaden my horizons and gain new ideas on how I can make a difference in my own community. I am also extremely excited to present about the Gateways to Opportunity Program! Me and an incredible team of both adults and youth in my area organized and worked at DETLC, a four night sleep away camp made to build the confidence and leadership skills of middle schoolers in rural Maine. I am so thankful for everyone at Healthy Acadia for giving me this amazing opportunity!

Joey

Hi, I'm Joey! I'm from Calais, Maine and a junior at Calais High School. I'm passionate about human rights activism and climate justice. These things mean a lot to me because I want to help build a better future for everyone. I know that's kind of a big goal, but I want to do my part and help people be both equal and sustainable. The reason you're seeing me on your social media page is because I was given the amazing opportunity to go to the CADCA National Leadership Forum. I'd love to attend because I know it would give me more opportunities to branch out, learn valuable skills, and meet new people!!. I love helping my community and I think attending this forum would help me be a better and more effective leader. I would really appreciate it if you considered donating or sharing this to help me (and other teens like me) make a bigger difference in the world. It would mean a lot to us. Thank you!!
