Go Take a Hike
It’s spring in Maine - the days are warming, birds are singing, flowers and trees are in bloom - it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and take a hike!
Saturday, June 4, is National Trails Day, a nationwide annual celebration of the hiking trails, conserved lands, and natural places we love, spearheaded by the American Hiking Society. It’s also an opportunity to give back to the trails and make sure everyone can access and enjoy the outdoors while experiencing these special places.
Healthy Acadia and the National Hiking Society encourage you to commit to leaving your favorite trail or outdoor destination better than you found it. Take the pledge. Click here to learn more.
Join the nationwide Trails Day movement and share your impact by tagging #NationalTrailsDay and @AmericanHiking.! Learn more.
If you plan to be in the Machias area on Saturday, June 4, join us at Roque Bluffs State Park for a Prevention Hike and Talk (see details under “Save the Dates” at right). Or, find a local event or create your own.
