Lactation Tent Loan Program
Healthy Acadia is pleased to offer the Lactation Tent loan program to help make community events more welcoming and accessible for families with infants and young children.
The Lactation Tent provides a private, comfortable space for chestfeeding or pumping at public events. The portable setup can also serve as a quiet place for families with young children to take a break, regroup, or decompress during busy community gatherings.
We believe that creating family-friendly event spaces helps more people participate fully in community life and allows families to stay longer and engage more comfortably at events.
Healthy Acadia believes that “Fed is Best” and that all families deserve access to safe, welcoming, and supportive spaces at community events.
Traditional event spaces often lack appropriate accommodations for chestfeeding or pumping. Bathroom stalls, porta-potties, and vehicles are not comfortable or suitable environments for feeding or pumping needs. The Lactation Tent helps address this gap by offering a clean, private, and family-friendly alternative.
Thanks to support from the Maine CDC and the PROSPER Initiative, the Lactation Tent is available to borrow free of charge for approved community events.
