What influenced your decision to commit to serve as a member of Healthy Acadia’s Board of Directors?
My experience working with Elsie, Katie, and Shoshona to plan and implement the Juneteenth Commemoration was transformative. I was impressed with their organization, desire to investigate and act, ability to clearly communicate, and genuine interest in active listening and compassionate support. Simply amazing people.
What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?
Healthy Acadia's commitment to addressing all components that support every member of our economically, culturally, and ecologically diverse community. I love the enthusiasm for listening to and supporting people of our community. The ingenuity and willingness to rethink how thigs have always been done are also truly remarkable.
What most inspires you on a personal level?
The inextricable relationship between training your mind and body. The immense potential for healing, exceptional mental/physical health, and expanded learning abilities that can emerge from strategically designed exercise experiences.
What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?
Spending time with my family at our camp on Pemadumcook Lake. There's no electricity or internet connection, just the peace of being surrounded by nature, with a stunning full view of Mt Katahdin.
Jacques is an avid mountaineer. He enjoys music of all kinds, camping, mountain running, orienteering, weightlifting, and the opportunity to be mindful while participating in any activity. He enjoys helping his clients, students, and colleagues develop the skills to do the same.
