Shelly, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I was introduced to Healthy Acadia a few months back through a coworker who was taking a CCAR course to become a Recovery Coach. It sparked my interest, so I also took the class along with a couple of other courses, and here I am now as a new Intern/coach for Waldo County!

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

Healthy Acadia's emphasis on community and the amount of community outreach is something I admire and want to be a part of. I stand behind the belief that everyone deserves to live a happy healthy life.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

I know that no matter what, the sun will rise. To me, that in itself is inspiring. It motivates me to start my day!

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

I love hiking. I feel extremely lucky to live in the beautiful state of Maine. I have been on many hikes and not one is the same. Every hike is a different adventure! Western Maine, specifically Grafton Notch, has become a favorite place to frequent and my favorite place to winter hike.
