Welcome, Shaylin Foss
Please join us in welcoming Shaylin Foss to the Healthy Acadia team!
Shaylin joins us as an Intern with our INSPIRE Community Recovery Center in Ellsworth. Shaylin supports the day-to-day operations and programming at INSPIRE - assisting with welcoming guests, facilitating meetings and activities, and supporting a safe and supportive environment. She recently served an internship with INSPIRE through the Eastern Maine Development Center.
Wendy, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?
I have a passion for working within the mental health and recovery field.
What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work and your new role?
I am most interested in the supportive environment that INSPIRE holds, and being able to meet people where they are.
What most inspires you on a personal level?
Being in recovery myself, while also working with individuals who may struggle with recovery, understanding and working with them on a deeper level.
What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?
Spending time with my daughter! I had her young, so we are growing up together, which has some struggles but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Originally from Harrington, Maine, Shaylin currently resides in Ellsworth.
