Welcome, Molly Riddle

Please join us in welcoming Molly Riddle to the Healthy Acadia team!

Molly joins us as a Maine Recovery Core Intern. Maine Recovery Core Interns offer direct peer support with the aim to improve recovery success among individuals facing substance use disorders.

Molly provides recovery coaching in Hancock and Waldo counties through Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Center and Volunteers of America Northern New England in Belfast.

Molly, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I was drawn to Healthy Acadia’s diverse work environment, as well as my own lived experience and yearning to help my community be healthier and happier. To thrive, not survive.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

Their willingness to help. The non judgemental environment and welcomeness. Their support and education that enriches my career.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

To change the stigma latched on to addiction and recovery. I want to learn all I can about this plague that has stricken so many people so I can be a soldier in the army that defeats it.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

Painting. Art has been my pathway to spiritual wellness. Maine’s diverse landscapes have inspired me my whole life.

Making me happy: Being surrounded by my loved ones, playing guitar, (driving my husband crazy) designing custom art, the love of animals, graphic design and volunteer work.

On my bucket list: to travel the world buying art from each culture I come across!

Molly holds a Bachelor's of Science in Communication and is a local artist and live sound engineer. She also serves on the HIIT (Helping Incarcerated Individuals Transition) Board of Directors and volunteers with the Art in Action Project. Molly and her family reside in Ellsworth.
