Leslie, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

It has been exciting to watch the expansion of Healthy Acadia's mission, work, talents, and commitments to promoting community health and excellence. I'm honored to join the team and tell people I'm part of it.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

My educational and professional background is in public health. Downeast Maine is my favorite place to be and I feel lucky every day to live here and be part of this wonderful and beautiful community. Bringing all of that together as we're still learning and coming to terms with the affect of the COVID pandemic and deeper understanding of health disparities and social determinants of health is VERY inspiring.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

Kindness.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

Downeast Maine is my favorite place - the warm community and caring connections and the beauty of this special place. I love to be in, on, and around the water, especially the ocean and swimming and kayaking. I’m planning a big trip of a lifetime to South Africa for 3 weeks in January 2024 and couldn't be more excited!

Originally from Los Angeles, Leslie resides in Blue Hill, Maine.
