Welcome, Kirsten Webber

Please join us in welcoming Kirsten Webber to the Healthy Acadia team!

Kirsten joins us as a recovery coach through our Maine Recovery Core internship program. Recovery Core Interns offer direct peer support to improve recovery success among individuals facing substance use disorders. As a CCAR-certified Recovery Coach, she provides recovery coaching and recovery resource navigation in Hancock County through Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Community Center.

Kirsten, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I have a passion to help people who have substance use disorders and I want to make do what I can to help the community. I am a student at University of Maine, Augusta (UMA) currently in pursuit of my bachelor's degree in Mental Health and Human Services with a focus in Substance Use Counseling.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?

I am inspired by all the help they have given people in the community and in the state. They work hard to help people and I am so excited to now be a part of that!

What most inspires you on a personal level?

Personally I have struggled with substance use in the past, I have many family members who have SUD's, and it has been a part of my life one way or another my entire life. I want to help people on their journey to recovery and living a healthy life without substances.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

Blue Hill, Maine. I lived there for years. It is gorgeous and it's a small friendly community. It's different.

Kirsten resides in Ellsworth. When not working or studying, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and pets.
