Welcome Back, Taylor Delano

Please join us in welcoming Taylor Delano to our Healthy Acadia team!

Taylor previously served as part of the support team at our seasonal overnight warming center, and joins the INSPIRE staff team as a Community Health Navigator.

Originally from Lee, Maine, Taylor attended Penquis Valley High School and Eastern Maine Community College.

Taylor, what inspired you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I feel like I can connect with just about anyone. I’m relatable, and my lived experience helps me understand where people are coming from. I wanted a career where I could help people who may be more vulnerable, make a real difference in their lives, and feel proud of the work I do.

What interests or inspires you most about Healthy Acadia’s work and your role?

I enjoy meeting people where they are, building connections, and being a positive influence. I’m glad to have the opportunity to support my peers and help people in our community.

What inspires you most on a personal level?

I’m motivated by trying to be a better person than I was yesterday. I work to stay positive and hope to inspire others who may still be struggling.

What’s your favorite thing to do or place to visit in Maine, and why?

I love skiing with friends at Mt. Jefferson Ski Area in Lee. My family owned the small ski mountain for more than 50 years, and I grew up there. We sold it in 2014, so going back brings up a lot of nostalgia and wonderful memories.

What would you like our community to know about you outside of work?

I have a 2-year-old daughter and two stepchildren, ages 4 and 6. Our family also includes two small dogs, Echo and Paisley, and two cats, Mufasa and Barrett. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, cars, and playing volleyball. I’m also a big NBA fan and love cheering on the Boston Celtics!
