Washington County Baby Gear Swap & Family Fun Friday

On Friday, July 12, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Washington County community is invited to join in the Baby Gear Swap & Family Fun Friday event. This exciting and free event will take place at the Grass Area of the Pellon Center, located at 90 Main Street, Machias.

Families are encouraged to bring new or gently used baby items to swap, such as highchairs, jumperoos, clothing, and more. This event is an excellent opportunity for families to exchange items they no longer need for something they can use, while also connecting with local family-centered agencies.

The event will feature live music by Healthy Acadia’s Washington County Food Programs Coordinator, Lucy Zwigard, performing folk covers and original songs as Oatmeal Bear. There will also be a variety of fun activities for children and families, including:

  • Kids Play Area

  • Kids Cooking Demo

  • Free Car Seat Checks

  • Kids Arts, Crafts, and Face Painting

  • Developmental Screenings

  • Children's Author Tona Mareglia

  • PRIZES and MORE!

This family-friendly event aims to support the community by providing a platform for resource sharing and fostering connections among local families. Various local organizations, including Sunrise Opportunities Prevention Council, Maine Family Planning, Healthy Acadia, and others, will be present to provide information and resources.

All remaining items will be donated to the We Care Baby Center in Machias. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled day designed to support and connect the community!
