Thank You for Making Our 5th Annual Down East Teen Leadership Camp Benefit Drive-Thru Luncheon a Success!

We are filled with gratitude for everyone who came out last Friday (May 16) to support the 5th Annual Down East Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC) Drive-Thru Luncheon. Thanks to you, we had a fabulous turnout—and even more lunch orders than last year. Woo-hoo! Your enthusiasm and generosity mean the world to us.

A special shoutout goes to Machias Memorial High School and the talented students in the Washington County Institute of Technology Culinary Arts Program. Once again, they prepared a delicious lunch with care and creativity. We’re so thankful for the time, effort, and skill they put into every meal.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our early DETLC 2025 business sponsors:
Downeast Community Hospital, Jonesport Type, Print & Copy LLC, and Lunamuse Fiberart. Your support helps make this important work possible—thank you!

DETLC is more than just a summer camp—it's a life-changing experience for teens entering grades 7 through 9. Each summer, young people from across our region come together for five incredible days of learning, connection, and growth.

No camper is ever turned away because of financial need.

As we celebrate DETLC's 25th year, we invite you to be a part of something powerful.

Sponsor a camper. Support a future leader. Help us make this milestone year at DETLC one to remember.

While this year’s luncheon was a wonderful success, we still need your help to make Camp happen. Every dollar makes a difference. A gift of just $5 can provide a healthy meal for a camper. If you’re able, please consider making a donation at bit.ly/DETLC-support.

Is your business interested in making a difference for local youth? We’d love to have you on board as a DETLC sponsor. Please reach out to Sara Willett at sara.willett@healthyacadia.org to learn more.

You can also support DETLC by spreading the word—share this post, tell a friend, or invite a neighbor to learn more about the program. Together, we can continue building strong, healthy futures for teens across Washington County.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Let’s keep making health happen for our youth!
