Join nationally-recognized facilitator Elizabeth Neptune for an insightful workshop on cultural competency. Explore key elements like awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and assumptions, while focusing on honoring and respecting diversity and cultural differences. This session, a free INDIGENOUS 2024 event, will deepen your understanding of trauma, race, equity, and inclusion, and provide tools to foster culturally competent organizations and communities.

Organizations serving Mount Desert Island and nearby communities are coming together to celebrate and honor the sovereignty, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples through INDIGENOUS 2024, a multi-day experience focused on healing, learning, engagement, and allyship. What began in 2021 as a small live performance has grown into a vibrant celebration featuring a series of free, inclusive experiences leading up to Indigenous People’s Day, supporting Wabanaki sovereignty and recognizing both the challenges and triumphs of Indigenous peoples.

Join us to celebrate, learn, and stand in solidarity. RSVP is encouraged, but not required, for these free events. Register for INDIGENOUS 2024 events at https://bit.ly/indigenous-2024. All events are free, and donations are welcomed to support this community effort. To donate, visit bit.ly/support_indigenous2024.
