Monthly Mindfulness Series to Explore Vagus Nerve and Stress Relief
Maine – Healthy Acadia invites community members to join the next session of its Monthly Mindfulness Series, “Vagus Nerve Reset: Finding Calm,” on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom. The free, one-hour session will be led by Healthy Acadia’s Julia Daigle and Ursula Hanson.
This workshop invites you to explore the vagus nerve - what it is, where it’s located, and how it supports balance and calm during stressful moments. You’ll learn simple, accessible ways to engage the vagus nerve and help settle an overwhelmed/overstimulated nervous system.
The session includes guided, experiential practices for emotional and physical regulation that can be done in just a few minutes. By the end of the session, you’ll have practical tools to help reset a busy nervous system and support a return to calm. Bring pen, paper, and any questions!
Pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link for this free event. To register, visit bit.ly/mindful-030526.
Julie Daigle brings 40 years of personal mind-body-spirit practice to this workshop, which informs her current classes as a certified yoga and tai chi instructor in Downeast and Midcoast Maine. As a member of Healthy Acadia’s substance and tobacco use prevention teams, she brings to this and other roles a lifelong interest in the gifts that the practice of mindfulness and stress reduction techniques can provide, including preventing disease by strengthening the nervous system and thereby positively impacting both the immune and gastrointestinal systems; improving physical, mental and emotional equilibrium; and enhancing overall quality of life.
Ursula Hanson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and consults with Healthy Acadia on their mindfulness and early childhood programming. She leads mindfulness and yoga classes for children from preschool through fifth grade and offers professional development for educators on integrating mindfulness into classroom settings. She also facilitates community-based programs on self-compassion, parenting, and pain management, and coordinates Healthy Acadia’s Monthly Mindfulness Series, featuring local practitioners. Ursula completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training through the Boston Yoga School and maintains a private practice.
