Have Some Winter Fun at Frost Fair: A Winter Wildlife Fun Day

Baring, ME - Healthy Acadia, in partnership with the Friends of Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, invites the public to their inaugural Frost Fair: A Winter Wildlife Fun Day. The free event will be held at Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters in Baring on Saturday, February 8*, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..

The public is invited to save the date and bring the whole family to enjoy outdoor fun for all ages, a cozy bonfire, hot drinks, and plenty of healthy snacks. Indoor seating and activities will be available as well. For lunch, roast hotdogs over the fire, and choose from meat and vegetarian chili options. Be sure to dress warmly to enjoy all the outdoor fun!

This event is made available at no cost to the public. Everyone is welcome. Healthy Acadia and Friends of Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge are looking forward to celebrating winter, wildlife, and healthy, family-friendly activities in Downeast Maine, together with the community.

“Making a wonderful space for community to gather, enjoy the outdoors, access wellness resources, borrow and try out snowshoes or skis, explore with a Maine Master Naturalist, and lots more; we just know this is going to be fun and a great chance to fight cabin fever in February in Maine!” Shared Shoshona Smith of Healthy Acadia.

The event is made possible with help from Versant, as a food sponsor, and Cobscook Shores, as a gear sponsor.

To learn more and access a Frost Fair schedule, the public can visit www.healthyacadia.org, which will be updated as the event nears.

*In the event of rain or unsafe weather conditions, the Frost Fair will be rescheduled to Saturday, February 15.
