Free Workshop Will Explore Yoga for Mind and Body
Maine – Healthy Acadia invites community members to participate in a free virtual wellness workshop, “Mindfulness and Movement: Supporting the Nervous System through Yoga,” on Thursday, October 2, 2025, via Zoom. The event, part of Healthy Acadia’s Monthly Mindfulness series, will feature special guest Samantha Williams.
Discover how the holistic practice of yoga soothes the mind and body by activating the parasympathetic nervous system via the vagus nerve. We'll also explore how cultivating a regular practice can lead to lasting changes in brain structure, making the nervous system more resilient to stress over time.
Samantha Williams, E-RYT 500, is the founder and lead teacher of Bold Coast Yoga School, which was established in 2016. She also serves as part-time faculty for the University of Maine at Machias, and as a wellness advisor for individuals and organizations. Williams lives in Whiting with her husband and two children.
Pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link for this free event. To register, please visit bit.ly/mindful-10225.
