Miles for Meals

The Hancock County Food Drive is hosting a week-long walking, hiking, and running challenge called Miles for Meals from April 16 - April 24, 2022. 100% of the funds raised will go toward helping the Food Drive raise $40,000 (120,000 meals!) this April. Lace up those running shoes and hiking boots and join us in building food security in Hancock County. All funds raised will go toward building food security in our community, and will be divided evenly among 18 food pantries, free meal programs, and school backpack programs in Hancock County. You can find a full list of the benefitting programs here.

Whether you are a seasoned runner, walker, or hiker, or you are looking to start moving more this spring, the Hancock County Food Drive invites you to sign up for the Miles for Meals challenge. Register and fundraise for every mile you walk, run, or hike between  Saturday April 16, 2022 and Sunday April 24, 2022.

Sign up and share the event with friends and family - registrants can go the extra mile by creating a fundraiser when they sign up.

Launched in 2011, The Hancock County Food Drive is an annual collaborative campaign that raises funds and food donations for local food pantries, meal sites, and school backpack programs. In 2021 the 19 partner organizations collaborated to raise $37,574 and 4,500 food item donations, equalling a total of 116,472 meals for Hancock County residents. This year the Food Drive partners aim to raise $40,000 during the month-long campaign, which runs through April 30.
