Help Us Keep Folklore Farm Growing

We are excited to be celebrating our 25th year, and we have big goals for our future so we can continue to make health happen for everyone throughout our region.

As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to build health and hope alongside us. One important way to do that is by supporting our Health & Hope Campaign, which aims to raise $1.5 million by Dec. 31 to help us meet critical community health needs and invest in our region’s future. Learn more about the campaign here.

One part of that future is Folklore Farm in Cherryfield.

Folklore Farm is a diversified vegetable community and food bank farm rooted in sustainable agriculture and an important part of the Washington County food system. With the support of volunteers, partners, and donors, we harvested 34,250 pounds of food last year, a 55% increase over the previous year! We also welcomed 27 CSA members and provided fresh produce to many other community members.

We have high hopes for the 2026 harvest and for what we can accomplish together in the years ahead.

There is just one important piece we need to secure for that future: the land itself.

While the farm operation is a Healthy Acadia program, this amazing farmland is currently for sale. We are working to purchase the property this year so we can keep it in agricultural use and ensure that Folklore Farm can continue providing fresh, healthy food to our community for years to come.

Our goal is to raise $75,000 toward the purchase of Folklore Farm. Your gift, of any amount, can help us keep this productive farmland growing food for our region.

And right now, your gift can have twice the impact. Our $110,000 Health & Hope Campaign matching opportunity includes $10,000 in matching funds dedicated to the Folklore Farm purchase. That means your gift toward this effort can be matched, thanks to a generous donor.

Together, we can keep Folklore Farm growing, protect valuable farmland, and continue connecting people across our region with fresh, healthy food.

Help us build health and hope for the next 25 years.
