Creating Smoke-Free Spaces - Alexander Grange

Alexander Grange board members recently enacted a smoke free policy. Back row, left to right: Elizabeth McVicar, Jane Manza, Crystal Roussel, Deb Hanson, Rhonda Oakes, Len Hanson, Dale Holst. Front row: Cassie Oakes and Carlos Oakes Jr.

In October, the Alexander Grange created and enacted a smoke free policy to create a safer meeting and gathering space for all community members. Healthy Acadia’s Katie Sell guided the organization’s board members through the policy development process, which enabled the Grange to take advantage of mini-grant funds and free signage currently available to businesses, organizations, and schools when creating a model policy.
