April 24 is Drug Take-Back Day
Unused or expired prescription medications can be risky to keep around. By disposing of them safely, you will be protecting your home, community, and environment.
Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 24, 2021. Law enforcement agencies across Maine and throughout the country will be hosting free take-back events - a safe and convenient way for you to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.
Community members are encouraged to bring in any unused, unwanted, or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications for this free, anonymous service. Many locations now accept e-cigarettes and other vape devices.
Bring your expired medicines to the Machias Police Station at 17 Stackpole Road between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, contact your local police department or law enforcement agency or click here to find a Take-Back Day event nearest you.
