Make a Lasting Impact with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you’re 70½ or older, you have a powerful opportunity to support Healthy Acadia while also reducing your taxable income.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to transfer funds each year directly from your traditional IRA, or similar investment vehicles, to a qualified nonprofit like ours, tax-free. These gifts may count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) and are not included in your adjusted gross income.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution offers a simple way to make a difference in the lives of community members served by Healthy Acadia, while also potentially lowering your federal income tax burden.
In short, a QCD is a simple, tax-smart way to make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of our communities across Downeast Maine.
Why Give Through a QCD?
Tax Efficient: QCDs are excluded from your taxable federal income.
Maximize Your Impact: 100% of your gift supports Healthy Acadia’s mission—no federal or state taxes are taken out.
Simple to Set Up: Most financial institutions can process a QCD with a quick phone call, an online request, or a short form.
Your Gift at Work
When you make a QCD to Healthy Acadia, you’re helping build vibrant, healthy communities for yourself, your family, your neighbors, and future generations. Every gift, no matter the size, creates ripples of positive change.
