Prime For Life
Prime For Life® is an evidence-based prevention and intervention program developed by the Prevention Research Institute that helps people learn to identify high-risk substance use behaviors and to reduce their risks of alcohol and drug related problems throughout life.
Prime For Life® is a prevention and intervention program specifically designed for people who may be making high-risk choices around substance use, including impaired driving offenders, college students, and young people charged with alcohol and/or drug-related offenses. Because Prime For Life® includes both prevention and intervention content, it is also appropriate for general, young adult and adult audiences.
Prime For Life® focuses on preventing high-risk behaviors by changing beliefs, attitudes, and risk perceptions around substance use. Prime For Life® participants work to identify their motivations for high-risk substance use, and explore how they can reduce their risk of alcohol- and drug-related problems throughout their lives.
Healthy Acadia offers Prime For Life® as a free program for general audiences, as well in school classroom and in correctional settings to provide skills and empower individuals to make informed decisions around substance use.
