LGBTQ+ Allyship Training Opportunities

Downeast Rainbow Alliance with support from Cobscook Institute and Healthy Acadia will host LGBTQ+ Allyship training from OUT Maine in three locations in Washington County this month. The sessions are offered at no cost to participants.

This training is designed for anyone who works with youth. It will provide a foundational understanding for those who are new to working with LGBTQ+ youth, as well as updated and in-depth information for those who are looking for a refresher. During this training participants will review: terminology and pronoun usage; risk and protective factors, supporting transgender and gender-expansive youth, student rights, intervening in harmful behavior, creating inclusive forms, and navigating facility needs. This training is based OUT Maine’s published Best Practices for LGBTQ+ Inclusive Programming.
