Welcome, Rebecca Doughty

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca Doughty to the Healthy Acadia team!

Rebecca joins us as a recovery coach through our Maine Recovery Core internship program. Recovery Core Interns offer direct peer support and advocacy to improve recovery success among individuals facing substance use disorders. Rebecca has served as a CCAR-certified Volunteer Recovery Coach since 2019. In her new role, she provides recovery coaching and recovery resource navigation in Penobscot County through the Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN).

Rebecca, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

My desire to make a meaningful contribution, this Company offers me a great opportunity to hone my skills and learn the ins and outs of Mental health work in the Recovery Community.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work and your new role?

I get a chance to learn important skills that will, in turn, allow me to serve the people I work with every day.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

Human Connection is the key to recovery, providing a safe space with positive repetition, guiding individuals to autonomy and pride in self because they did it, ultimately behind the wheel of whatever recovery looks like for them.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

I like the woods, being in nature, doing my art. All three in their own ways, are healing.

Rebecca grew up in Portland and Hiram, Maine, and currently resides in Bangor.
