Welcome, Mariah Cullicutt

Please join us in welcoming Mariah Cullicutt to the Healthy Acadia team! 

Mariah joins us as a recovery coach through our Maine Recovery Core internship program. Recovery Core Interns offer direct peer support and advocacy to improve recovery success among individuals facing substance use disorders. Mariah provides recovery coaching and recovery resource navigation in Piscataquis County.

Mariah, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?

I joined Healthy Acadia because I believe everyone deserves hope, support, and someone who believes in them. My own experiences inspired me to help others on their recovery journey, and Healthy Acadia's mission and values align with the kind of recovery coach i want to become. I want to be part of a team that empowers people and makes a real difference in our communities.

What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work and your new role? 

One of the things that inspires me most about Healthy Acadia's work and role is that Healthy Acadia values the lived experience of people in recovery. Rather than seeing recovery as a limitation, they see it as a strength. They empower employees who are in recovery to use their experiences to inspire hope, build genuine connections, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. In my role, being part of Healthy Acadia, which believes in both the people it serves and the people it employs, motivates me to continue growing while helping others do the same.

What most inspires you on a personal level?

On a personal level, what inspires me most is seeing people realize that their past doesn't define their future. I know how powerful it is when someone believes in you. Especially during difficult times. That inspires me to be the source of hope and encouragement for others.

What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?

Home is where my family is; wherever they are, that's my favorite place to be in Maine.
