Tasting Healthy Foods at Loaves & Fishes
Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth has an abundance of fresh produce and dry goods for its clients to choose from. This summer, SNAP educator Nicole Gurreri visited Loaves & Fishes twice a month with a yummy recipe for clients to taste. Clients could try the food, grab the recipe, gather the ingredients from the pantry, and recreate the dish at home!
You can try these seasonal recipes at home, too:
Three Bean Salad - make this with dry beans to save money!
Blueberry Baked Oatmeal is a yummy dish for busy mornings - fuel up with fiber-rich oats and antioxidant-packed blueberries.
Zucchini Bread - this sweet treat was a favorite of Loaves & Fishes clients!
Mexican Pickled Vegetables is an easy, tangy way to utilize those odds and ends of produce hanging out in the fridge.
Pear, Grape, and Cucumber Salad is a refreshing way to use an abundance of cucumbers and fresh fruit.
