Healthy Acadia Selected as Shaw's GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program Beneficiary for September
Ellsworth, Maine - Healthy Acadia’s INSPIRE Recovery Community Center in Ellsworth has been selected as a nonprofit partner in the Shaw's GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program for September 2026. The Shaw's GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program not only promotes sustainability by reducing plastic waste but also provides a meaningful opportunity to grow awareness and support for Healthy Acadia’s mission within the community.
Throughout September, customers of the Ellsworth Shaw’s store, located at 175 High Street, will contribute to Healthy Acadia with a $1 donation for every $3 GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag purchased.
The Shaw’s GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program makes it easy for shoppers to support their communities and environment by buying durable, reusable shopping bags. Donations from this program support groups focused on education, civic, health and wellness, hunger relief, and military and veterans organizations.
Every month, leadership at each store location chooses a local nonprofit to be the default beneficiary from the GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program. For each reusable GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag purchased, a $1 donation will be made to a local nonprofit organization serving the community of the Shaw’s store where it was bought.
“We are so honored and appreciative to be selected as a GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program beneficiary by the team at Ellsworth Shaw’s,” said Shoshona Smith, Healthy Acadia’s Development Director. “We love that community members can purchase such a useful everyday item and support our community health programs at the same time!”
Healthy Acadia, celebrating 25 years, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that engages in a broad range of initiatives to build healthier communities and make it easier for people to lead healthy lives across Washington and Hancock counties, Maine. Learn more at www.healthyacadia.org.
