Free Workshop Helps Parents Boost Resilience Skills 

Southwest Harbor, ME. Healthy Acadia and Acadia Family Center invite community members to to join them for a free dinner and “Hunt the Good Stuff,” a resilience skill-building workshop on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Acadia Family Center located at 1 Fernald Point Road, Southwest Harbor, Maine.

This interactive workshop will help parents, caregivers, and children to develop an optimistic thinking and communication style, strengthen relationships, and foster positive mental health. Children are welcome to attend the training or to participate in an arts and crafts project. Dinner will be provided to all attendees.

“Hunt The Good Stuff” is based on the work of Martin Seligman and works to counter the brain’s innate negativity bias, to create positive emotions, and to notice and analyze what is good. Practicing the skill of active, kind responding, based on the work of Dr. Shelly Gable, strengthens the relationships and helps to strengthen the practice of and the benefits from hunting the good stuff.
