New community garden providing fresh produce to Washington County Jail

MACHIAS -- While many local vegetable farmers often share their produce with markets or food pantries, a new farm in Machias is on a mission to target a different group in their community. 

The Downeast Restorative Harvest is a new initiative by the non-profit Healthy Acadia. It was started this year in response to a growing need for more vegetable farms in the county.
