How to Talk with Children About Substances

Join Healthy Acadia’s Drug-free Communities Coordinator Tara Young, in collaboration with the G.E.A.R. Parent Network, on Monday, November 6, 2023, for “How to Talk with Your Child About Substances.” This free workshop and discussion will be offered from 4:30 to 6 p.m. online via Zoom. online via Zoom.

Participants will explore strategies for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older siblings to talk to the children and young adults in their lives and reduce the risk of underage drinking and other substance use. Tara will share information and resources needed to address these issues early and often. It's never too early (and it's never too late!) to start these conversations or learn more and develop skills to continue and strengthen communication about substances. Together, we can encourage people under 21 to remain substance-free during the most critical years of brain development.

This training will be offered online via Zoom at no cost to participants. There is no cost to attend, however, pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Register at: https://gearparentnetwork.org/event/how-to-talk-to-your-child-about-substances/
