11th Annual Turkey-A-Thon Set for October 16
September 21, 2015

WASHINGTON COUNTY - The holiday season is fast approaching, and for families facing food insecurity in Washington County, it can be a particularly stressful time of year. To help lessen the burden and provide a healthy holiday meal for neighbors in need, Classic Hits 92.7/95.3 and Healthy Acadia will be hosting their eleventh annual TurkeyAThon on Friday, October 16, from 7 am to 5 pm.

Staff from the two organizations and local volunteers will be stationed at eight locations throughout Washington County to accept donations– $12 can purchase a turkey, and donations of any amount will greatly help. Every dollar raised will be used to purchase gift certificates from local grocery stores that will be distributed to all Washington County food pantries. The gift certificates will help ensure that local families in need enjoy a healthy holiday meal.

Please help Classic Hits 92.7/95.3 and Healthy Acadia meet their goal of 2,500 turkeys this year. Stop by and make your donation at one of these locations on Friday, October 16. Your contribution will be recognized on-air at Classic Hits 92.7/95.3 FM, which will be broadcasting live during the event:

Four Corners Shop 'n Save, Columbia
Machias River Inn, Machias
