There’s still time to register for the 2016 Wild Blueberry Run on August 20, 2016. Healthy Acadia is excited to sponsor this year’s Wild Blueberry 5-Mile Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run to be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016. The Wild Blueberry Run serves as the kick-off to the annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival, which features hundreds of craft and food vendors, exhibits, and fun activities. Proceeds from this year’s Wild Blueberry Run/Walk will benefit Healthy Acadia's Downeast Teen Leadership Camp and One Voice youth groups, supporting youth to take leadership in their schools and communities, to prevent substance misuse, and to bring about positive change.

The much-anticipated Wild Blueberry Run t-shirt will be revealed the morning of the race. This year’s t-shirt design was created by Kiel Darling, an AmeriCorps VISTA member working with Healthy Acadia in partnership with the Washington County Food and Fuel Alliance. Kiel, who earned an MFA from Michigan State University, is both a talented artist and a strong advocate for food sovereignty and economic sustainability in Washington County.

Registration for the 1-mile fun run is $10.00, or $15.00 on the day of the event. Registration for the 5-mile run/walk is $25.00, or $30.00 on the day of the event. Pre-register by July 22, 2016 to reserve your “Wild Blueberry Run” T-shirt.
