No Excuses – Hop on a Bike and Ride Around Machias
August 24, 2015

Get out and ride - a bike - in Machias! Whether you are running a few quick errands in town or just want to enjoy the views, cycling is a great way to get active outdoors. And now you can park your bike at one of seven new bike racks in the downtown area. Healthy Acadia and the Healthy Main Streets Coalition of Machias would like to send a huge thanks out to Machias' Public Works Director Mike Schoppee and his crew for assembling and installing the racks (on short notice!) at the following locations: The Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Whole Life Market/Burnham Tavern, Town Office/Subway, Sunrise Trail Kiosk/Station 98, Dunkin Donuts/Pat's Pizza, Bad Little Falls Park (Grange side), and Machias Municipal Airport.

Do you have an adult or children's bike, in good condition, that you would like to donate to the Healthy Maine Streets Bicycle Loaner Program? Contact Angela at 255-3741 or email angela@healthyacadia.org.

This project is supported in part by the Partnership to Improve Community Health program through EMHS and US CDC.
