Wild Blueberry Run
August 22, 2016

Machias – Healthy Acadia would like to thank the nearly 300 runners and walkers who participated in the 2016 Wild Blueberry Run on August 20, 2016. This year was the first time Healthy Acadia sponsored the race, which serves as the kick-off to the annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival. Proceeds from this year’s Wild Blueberry Run/Walk will benefit Healthy Acadia's Downeast Teen Leadership Camp and One Voice youth groups, supporting youth to take leadership in their schools and communities, to prevent substance misuse, and to bring about positive change.

The Healthy Acadia team extends sincere apologies to race participants for an approximately 30-minute delay in the start of the race, as well as internal glitches which postponed posting of final race results. Race results are now available online at: http://www.coolrunning.com/results/16/me.shtml.

Healthy Acadia would like to thank the many community volunteers who helped coordinate this year’s event, SparkFlashGap for their excellent work in timing the race, and the runners and for their patience and participation. The Healthy Acadia team looks forward to working to making next year’s race a fun - and glitch-free - event for all!
