Paths to Eden: Thank you from Healthy Acadia
June 4, 2012
To the Editor:

Healthy Acadia would like to express our deep appreciation to the organizers and participants of the Paths to Eden Fair, held on May 26 at Pleasant Street Pilates Studio in Bar Harbor. This Health and Healing Fair enabled community members to experience a wide range of health and wellness options, from meditation and acupuncture to drumming and Zumba, with organic seedlings for sale, an herbal tea bar, and so much more. The event provided an excellent opportunity for local practitioners to share their expertise and for community members to learn more about many health resources in the region. Sue Collier graciously hosted the event at her Pleasant Street Pilates Studio, and Hayley Merchant, Jennifer Miller, and Anastasia Baratta coordinated the wonderful day.

We were honored that the Paths to Eden Fair organizers chose to make the event serve as a benefit for Healthy Acadia, with donations at the door directed to our Coalition. Healthy Acadia is a private non-profit, dedicated to building healthier communities through partnerships, policy & environmental change, education, and prevention services across the Downeast-Acadia region. We were deeply touched by this support from the Fair coordinators and from the community members who participated in the event. Every bit of support increases our ability to make lasting improvements to health throughout Hancock County and beyond. Thank you again so very much to the Paths to Eden Fair coordinators, the health practitioners, and the fair participants for your dedication and support for healthy living. Together, your efforts help make our communities healthy places to grow, live, work, play and pray.

With appreciation,
Doug Michael
